Inspired from a young age to practice medicine by his father, who was also a medical doctor, Ralph Guarneri, M.D. has dedicated his life to saving people and helping patients. Dr. Guarneri has been practicing medicine since 1985, and prides himself on being a well-trained surgeon with expertise in a diverse field of surgical specialties. Dr. Guarneri is a classically-trained general surgeon in multiple fields, including GI Trauma & Critical Care, Hernia, Breast and Endocrine. Dr. Guarneri excels at standard surgery, as well as laparoscopic and robotic.
Recently, Dr. Guarneri achieved the Master Surgeon certification in Robotic Surgery, an accreditation that few surgeons achieve and distinguishes Dr. Guarneri from his peers. Dr. Guarneri is committed to providing the highest quality of care to patients as determined by an independent, external process of evaluation. Becoming a Master Surgeon in Robotic Surgery is an accreditation highlighting that Dr. Guarneri has met nationally recognized standards. Dr. Guarneri has also received numerous awards for his distinguished service throughout his career.
After being certified by the American Board of Surgery in Surgical Critical Care and to be on the National Board of Examiners, Dr. Guarneri entered the Surgical Residency Program at SUNY Downstate (where he served as Chief Resident of Surgery in his last year). Dr. Guarneri served as a surgical attending physician and Director of Emergency Services at Nassau County Medical Center until he opened a private practice in 1991 with Dr. Moshe Stav. Dr. Guarneri stayed at his private practice in Nassau for 9 years, until 2000. Dr. Guarneri has been serving as a member of Trauma Services and Trauma Quality Assurance at Broward General Medical Center since 1992, and was certified by the American Board of Surgery in 1993.
